Queen is a British rock band that formed in London in 1970. The band members were Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar), and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals). Queen’s early works fused elements of hard rock with heavy metal and punk rock to create their own unique sound.
In 1973, Queen released their debut album, Queen. The album was a commercial success, reaching number four on the UK Albums Chart. It included the singles “Keep Yourself Alive” and “Liar”. The following year, the band released their second album, Queen II. The album reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and included the singles “Seven Seas of Rhye” and “See What a Fool I’ve Been”.
Queen’s third album, Sheer Heart Attack, was released in 1974. The album reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and included the singles “Killer Queen” and “Now I’m Here”. In 1975, Queen released their fourth album, A Night at the Opera. The album topped the UK Albums Chart and included the singles “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “You’re My Best Friend”.
In 1976, Queen released their fifth album, A Day at the Races. The album reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and included the singles “Somebody to Love” and “Tie Your Mother Down”. In 1977, Queen released their sixth album, News of the World. The album reached number three on the UK Albums Chart and included the singles “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions”.
Queen’s seventh album, Jazz, was released in 1978. The album reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and included the single “Bicycle Race”. In 1980, Queen released their eighth album, The Game. The album reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and included the singles “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” and “Another One Bites the Dust”.
In 1981, Queen released their ninth album, Flash Gordon. The album reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and included the single “Flash’s Theme”. In 1982, Queen released their tenth album, Hot Space. The album reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and included the singles “Under Pressure” and “Body Language”.
Queen’s eleventh album, The Works, was released in 1984. The album reached number three on the UK Albums Chart and included the singles “Radio Ga Ga”, “I Want to Break Free”, and “Hammer to Fall”. In 1985, Queen released their twelfth album, A Kind of Magic. The album reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and included the single “One Vision”.
In 1986, Queen released their thirteenth album, The Miracle. The album reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and included the single “Who Wants to Live Forever”. In 1989, Queen released their fourteenth album, The Innuendo. The album reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and included the single “I’m Going Slightly Mad”.
Queen’s fifteenth album, Made in Heaven, was released in 1995. The album reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and included the singles “Heaven for Everyone” and “Too Much Love Will Kill You”. Queen have sold over 300 million records worldwide, making them one of the world’s best-selling music artists. They have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the UK Music Hall of Fame.
